Our Mission- to support people with Anorexia Nervosa (AN) and those close to them
Our Mission
Thrive Again
Our mission is to save and improve lives of individuals with Anorexia Nervosa (AN) and their families by:

-
Educating society about the condition of AN and its early phase where intervention can be most effective.

-
Empowering families towards effective intervention through guidance and clear information.

-
Building a network of early intervention centers using arts to aid recovery and self-discovery.
Jargon Buster
Eating Disorders
Is it ED (Eating Disorders), AN (Anorexia Nervosa), Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorders or EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified)?
The general public typically uses the term anorexia/anorexic loosely. However, the medical professions specifically categorize the progression of the condition into different names of illness; they describe the general condition as an Eating Disorder (ED) until the person exhibits symptoms outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).

While confusion exists, we would like to be a catalyst for clarification and unification for a cause that is burdened by stigma.
Our Website
Mothership of Info
The Elephant in the Room Foundation (EitRF.org) aims to give the most comprehensive and understandable picture of Anorexia Nervosa (AN) through combining scientific findings and experiences of AN. The website is continuously being updated.
We endeavour to inform families so that they can act earlier in assisting their loved one back to health as well as to present a perspective that can help sufferers in finding a way to be happy and thrive again.
Informed early intervention can make the difference between a safe, lasting recovery and a possible death.
